About Save the Season
Becoming a CSA member with Save the Season ensures localvores enjoy locally-grown produce all year. November through March, our members receive high quality, small-batch dehydrated and frozen fruits and vegetables to be enjoyed when fresh local produce is not available. During the summer look for us at the West Michigan Co-op for frozen smoothie kits, freshly ground spices and more!
Save the Season is strongly committed to growing the West Michigan local food movement. Our goal is to work directly with small, family farms to process and preserve their produce and provide them with an additional source of income.
We only work with farms using sustainable practices, ensuring our customers are getting the most nutritious products and our environment is being protected.

I am a Michigan girl at heart. Growing up on the East Side of the state, I was constantly around family, and almost always baking, gardening and canning with Grandma. After high school, I attended the Culinary Institute of America in upstate New York to study baking and pastry arts. I relocated to Washington D.C. to pursue my career in various restaurants and hotels.
Seeing the inner workings of the food industry through several avenues left me wondering if there was more to be accomplished through my passion for food. After moving to Grand Rapids in 2014, I was awestruck by meeting so many people with such an all-encompassing view of the food economy, from the ground to the plate and back again.
Becoming a part of this community made me realize there was a break in the cycle: small farms have few options when it comes to preserving their crops. Save the Season is my mission to help small farms thrive and give back to Michigan's food community.
